Lincoln Road Festival Selects Lockout

South Beach Future Fest
Film buffs who loved Luc Besson's Lockout will want to get in on the Miami Beach Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival, a weekend of Sci-Fi geekery that's currently in the planning stages for Spring 2014. A cooperative effort to celebrate all things science fiction will take place on Lincoln Road Mall in the heart of South Beach.

Travel to South Beach and Beyond!
Guests at the Miami Beach Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival can easily plan a tropical getaway to South Beach via the Miami International or Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airports which offer a variety of airline carriers at all price levels. Ground transfers from Fort Lauderdale via the friendly Go Shuttle are quick and affordable and the public transit Airport Flyer #150 from Miami Airport to South Beach costs only $2.35 per person.

Lincoln Road Mall is the center of the action and stands just steps away from all kinds of hotels from the simple to the sublime. Choose a classic Art Deco hotel or splurge on a lavish seaside resort. Travel to Sci-Fi Film Festival events is as easy as hopping on a 25 cent Local Shuttle Bus running day and night or popping onto a Deco Bike at a nearby kiosk where dozens of colorful beach cruisers stand ready to whisk you away!

Explore the Future
Sci-Fi Film Fans can explore popular and obscure films at the Sci-Fi Film Festival. Working with major studios and indie producers, we will gather current and recently released films in this important category and also offer our Midnight Madness Classic Cinema series of fun and funky films we love to hate and hate to love. We've also got some sneak peeks of films currently in production and a variety of filmmaker seminars where you'll have an opportunity to review Sci-Fi projects and then participate in a Q & A with members of the crew, the cast and the production staff.

Seminars in making Sci-Fi films and Critical Evaluations of important works promise to provide the behind-the-scenes information that film fans crave. We will be inviting members of the original casts of your favorite Sci-Fi films and will post a list of Celebrity Panel Discussions and Meet & Greets as we get commitments from the stars. We welcome the NexGen: Young Directors Panel to the Fest this year and plan to let you discover the next generation of Sci-Fi filmmakers who are hoping to connect to a brand new audience.

Select members of Miami's avid fan community will be hosting Walking Tours of area film locations so Sci-Fi fans can explore the city through the filter of local Pop Culture buffs. See the places used in your favorite film and TV series and stage your own photo opportunities straight out of Dexter, Burn Notice, Magic City and more!
